A winter ski residence.
San Martino di Castrozza is an alpine village located in the centre of the Paneveggio Natural Park at a height of 1487 m. above sea level on the slopes of the Pale di San Martino. It is surrounded by easily reachable ski facilities and for this reason it has become a very important tourist destination since the beginning of the 20th century, if not before.
What to do if you don't ski?
Snow is a constant inspiration.
Living in an alpine winter environment, witnessing a snowfall or admiring the snowy landscape on a beautiful sunny day is in itself a unique spectacle to be seen at least once in a lifetime. But if you really don't want to learn how to ski or do some healthy snowboarding, here are some ideas for a fantastic and fun week!
1. SNOWSHOE
"Walking on fresh snow."
If this is missing from your experience, make sure you fill the gap as soon as possible! Floating on the snow with these marvellous instruments is really like walking on the moon. It is possible to do easy snowshoeing in the middle of the woods, to reach mountain huts or refuges (Malga Crel, Capanna Cervino, Malga Canali, Baita Segantini or the Laghetti di Colbricon), in the Val Venegia with dreamlike views or more demanding ones on the Pale di San Martino with the help of mountain guides.
2. Aperitif on a snowmobile
"A very special happy hour!"
A fast snowmobile will take you and your friends through the snowy woods of San Martino di Castrozza and in a few minutes you will reach the perfect location for a toast with friends. On the bar counter dug out of the snow and lit by torches you will find whatever you like, from a selection of grappas to Trentino sparkling wines, from hot tea to mulled wine flavoured with cinnamon and cloves.
3. Relaxation in the Dolomites SPA
"An enveloping warmth with a view of the Dolomites."
The largest Spa in San Martino di Castrozza in the centre of town, ready to welcome you into the warmth of its grottoes, its outdoor barrel saunas and the magnificent outdoor Jacuzzi with a panoramic view of the Pale di San Martino. "Just the sound of hooves"
A special carriage drawn by Norwegian horses will take you to a magical, unique atmosphere.
